Victory is near
There are only two rounds left until the end of the 4th FIDE Gran Prix competition series. After the 11th round, Levon Aronyan is close to victory as he continues to head the chess board with 7 points.
In the 11th round, Aronyan faced off with Rustam Kasimjanov who is in the last place. The match ended with a tie and Aronyan's key opponent Peter Leko gained half a point. The Hungarian grosmeister tied the match with black figures with Pavel Elyanov.
Vladimir Hakobyan also played with the blacks against Russian chess player Piotr Svidler. This match was also tied. Hakobyan closes the top three along with Alexeyev and Bakor and each chess player scored 6 points respectively.
