Kotanjyan stands a good chance to win the tournament

The Dubai chess tournament is drawing to an end. Armenian GM Tigran Kotanjyan beat Levan Pantsulaia of Georgia in round 8. Tigran Kotanjyan and Russia's Dmitry Bochkarev are sharing the top position in Dubai Open chart with 6.5 points.  In the last ninth round the Armenian GM will compete with Pavel Maletini of Russia.

Another Armenian chess player Ashot Anastasyan is the eighth on the list with 6 points. He played a tie with Vadim Malakhatko of Belorussia in the eighth round. In the last round Ashot Anastasyan is to compete with Indian Arun Prasad.

Armenian chess players Hrant Melkumyan and Suren Poghosyan take the 23rd-24th places with 5 points.

The other Armenian chess players proved less successful.
