Won't the price go up?
The price of petrol has gone up by 20 drams in Armenia. A liter of petrol cost 310 drams today.
Armenia's State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) has already protocolled the advanced price. Asked whether the price increase violates the law on the Economic Competition, SCPEC spokeswoman Armine Udumian said the answer will be given after a thorough study.
In order to find out the reasons for the rise in prices, A1+ contacted one of the largest fuel importing companies in Armenia-Flesh.
"The price increase is determined by international prices. The prices weren't altered for the last ten days," says Mushegh Elchyan, the deputy head of the Company.
Note that the prices at international markets have recently gone down. Before the advance in prices, petrol was rather cheap in foreign countries, while in Armenia the prices didn't change.
In reply to A1+'s observation, Mushegh Elchyan said the petrol price was then influenced by the dollar-dram fluctuations.
