Director General of "VivaCell-MTS" Ralph Yerikyan announced today that "VivaCell-MTS" prepaid subscribers can now recharge their cards for any amount by simply visiting the nearest "VivaCell-MTS" spot.

According to Yerikyan, this gives subscribers the opportunity to cut back on expenses and stop using too many recharge cards.

During today's press conference, Yerikyan denied rumors about his resignation and worker lay-offs. According to the Director General, there are 1,200 workers and only contract workers were laid off.

Ralph Yerikyan welcomed the entrance of the 3rd operator in the market and said that it makes their work harder.

Newly appointed Director General of "ArmenTel" CJSC Igor Klimko and Vice-executive director on business development in CIS countries of the "Vimpelcom" OJSC Dmitri Pleskonos also held a press conference today. Unlike Ralph Yerikyan, Dmitri Pleskonos is not too pleased with the 3rd operator's entrance into the market. According to him, there are many operators and few subscribers.

The newly appointed "ArmenTel" general director Igor Klimko said that within the past two weeks he has met with people, toured the city, offices and is convinced that the problem is the quality of service.

"Workers must greet clients with a smile on their face and I am going to pay attention to that."

As for subscribers' complaints regarding the poor quality of the GPRS and 3G services, head of the technical operation of the mobile connection network service at "ArmenTel" said that all problems concerning the GPRS connection have been solved. As for the 3G coverage, it only works in Yerevan and there are few users.
