Weren’t able to meet with co-rapporteurs
Parents of the victims of March 1 wanted to meet with Co-rapporteurs on Armenia John Prescott and Georges Colombier who are in Yerevan starting yesterday.
The parents had gathered in front of the CE information office building and were trying to hand their letters to the co-rapporteurs.
"We want to know if they will be consistent with the creation of another group after the disbanding of the Fact-Finding Group," said parent Jemma Vardumyan.
Sargis Kloyan, father of one of the victims Gor Kloyan, said that he had high hopes with the Fact-Finding Group, but it was disbanded.
The parents had come to present their demand and ask the co-rapporteurs to raise the voice of the parents during the June 24 parliamentary assembly. They stood in front of the office for two hours, yet did not get a chance to meet with the co-rapporteurs and were told that the latter were in meetings.
"We parents of the victims demand a fair solution for the blood shed by our innocent children," said the parents.
The Co-rapporteurs have already met with the Prosecutor General and they are scheduled to meet with Serzh Sargsyan, Hovik Abrahamyan, Chief of the ad hoc commission leading the investigation into the events of March 1 Samvel Nikoyan. The Co-rapporteurs will also meet with Levon Ter-Petrosyan, NGO representatives, former members of the Fact-Finding Group and wives of prisoners.
