Gold price fluctuates
Employees of Yerevan gold markets say they see no buyers for days.
"The crisis is felt in the market. Gold is mostly bought by foreigners," salesman Karen said to A1+. People largely buy small jewels as they cannot afford expensive ones.
Today a gram of gold is sold at 17.1-18 dollars and pure gold - at 30.6 dollars.
Salespeople say gold price tends to go up. "They say it will reach 40 dollars. But we shall not benefit from it as no matter how much we sell we are paid the same salary," they say.
Statistics shows that medium class people usually buy jewels of 200-300 dollars, while well-off people spent a few thousand dollars on gold jewelry.
Today a gram of gold is sold at 10770 drams in Armenia, reports the Central Bank.
