Fewer customers
Beauty salons have not only been hit by the economic crisis, but the summer heat as well.
As manager of the "Marciela" beauty salon Liana told "A1+", whereas they used to have clients who came three-four times a week, now they only have clients who come only once every two weeks. Many people don't want to fix their hair because the sun dries it up anyway.
"We have fewer customers and there are many hair salons that simply close down because they can't stand the situation," says manager Liana.
Manager of the "Susyoi Mot" beauty salon Susanna Arakelyan is concerned that the barbers who work at home charge less for cutting and blow-drying hair and cause a blow to beauty salons.
"Fewer people come year by year because new beauty salons open up everywhere. Those who open beauty salons think that they can do business, but then they face taxes and sell their homes," said the manager of the beauty salon.
She also talked about the receipts and said that people would work more comfortably without the cash registers. "Very often taxing officials come and have their hair done. If we don't give them the receipt, they fine us and don't let us do our job."
The manager also said that the tourists coming to Armenia are generally the ones who go to beauty salons and barber shops.
