Yerevan, especially the Kentron district, doesn't lack garbage cans, but things still haven't changed. There are piles of garbage near every garbage can and the municipality's gargabe trucks clean the garbage three times a day.

"We clean the garbage in the morning at 5-6 a.m., then at 1 p.m. and at 4 p.m., but it is not enough. People shouldn't throw trash on the floor. There are people who throw the trash out the window," said Vahram Movsesyan.

Some citizens confirmed that they throw trash on the street without even thinking twice.

"I throw food scraps on the street because the trashcans are not appropriate. For example, I will throw the trash on the street if I am in a rush and don't see a trashcan," said one student coming out of the building of the Armenian State Pedagogical University.

All citizens accept the fact that Armenians like to keep their house clean, but are indifferent toward the street.

We're egoist. We don't care about what is ours. We generally like to keep things clean, but we need to be educated," said one middle-aged woman.

One interlocutor assured that citizens are the first to blame for the situation in the city and not the local authorities. "They are indifferent toward the city."

Does that mean that they don't love Yerevan? In response, one man who was in a rush said: "They do, but indifferently."
