Three boxers reach 1/8 finlas

 In 1/8 finals of the Milan World Boxing Championship Armenia will be represented by 3 boxers only: Hovhannes Danielyan (48 kg), Azat Hovhannesyan (57 kg) and Andranik Hakobyan (75kg).

On September 7, Danielyan will combat against South African boxer Lebogang Pilane. On September 8, Hovhannesyan will rival Alessio Di Savino of Italy and Hakobyan fight against Irish boxer Darren O'Neal on September 7 and 8.

The Armenian team had great losses last Saturday.

The European Champion of 2009, Eduard Hambardzumyan (64 kg), lost to Onur Sipal of Turkey (1:3), bronze medal-holder of the 2008 Olympic Games Hrachya Javakhyan lost to Everton Lopesh of Brazil (3:10) and Derenik Gijlaryan (51 kg) -to Misha Aloyan of Russian (5:11).

Only three Armenian sportsmen had success.

Hovhannes Danielyan (48 kg), unlike other representatives of Armenian team, entered the field in 1/16 finals, beating Harry Tanamor of Philippines 11:3.

Azat Hovhannesyan defeated Jitis Vaitkus of Lithuania in 1/16 finals by the score of 12:3 and Andranik Hakobyan won over Naim Terbunja -15:11.
