Promising start
The U-17 European weightlifting Championship kicked off in Eilat, Israel. On the first day of the championship, Armenian sportsman Smbat Margarian (56 kg) won a gold medal with a 235 kg lift in clean and jerk combination (100 kg +135 kg) .
Armenian weightlifter Vardan Karapetian took the 10th place with a result of 210 kg.
