The assassin was the nephew of a well-known thief
Karen Petrosyan was arrested under the suspicion of assassinating director of the "Khosrov's Forest" reserve, Samvel Shaboyan.
According to the police, the preliminary investigation of the case instigated under Part 1 of Article 235and 104 of the RA Criminal Code is headed by the chief investigative department of the RA Police.
Karen Petrosyan is the nephew of well-known thief Marzpetuni Petrosyan who was killed in June by Samvel Shaboyan's brother Pertchik.
On June 20 at around 9:20 a.m. well-known thief Marzpetuni Petrosyan (nickname "Marso", born in 1960) was shot at the entrance to his home in the Goravan village of Ararat Marz. He was transferred to the hospital in the city of Vedi where he died.
According to the news department of the police, ten minutes after the incident resident of the city of Vedi, Pertchik Shaboyan (born in 1952) presented himself at the Ararat police division and informed that he had gone to Goravan to settle personal issues and shot Marzpetuni Petrosyan.
Shaboyan handed the police his hunting gun with a 12mm diameter and three bullets with the same diameter.
Let us remind that Samvel Shaboyan was killed in his own car last midnight.
