According to the statement by the US Embassy, resident of Yerevan, Ashkhen M. (born in 1984) had appealed to the US Embassy of Armenia with the request to receive a non-immigrant entrance visa. She had presented the package of documents, including an AD 009891 diploma from the Armenian State University of Architecture and Engineering, which made the US Embassy employees suspicious.
After an examination, it turned out that Askhen M. has not studied at the university at all and her husband had paid a stranger 2,200 USD for the diploma in October 2008.
The technical-criminological expert examination of the document showed that the mentioned format of the document and the stamps were falsified.
