There were signs and photos of political prisoners today near the statue of Aram Khachatryan in front of the Opera building.

Dozens of citizens were screaming "Freedom to political prisoners", "Fight, fight until the end" and more. Standing in the front line of the protesters were activists of the Armenian National Congress with prisoners' clothes and photos of political prisoners, as well as relatives of the victims of March 1, 2008.

Today the International Federation of Human Rights launched the 37th congress wtih 300 delegates from different countries around the world.

Tevos Matevosyan, who was dressed in a prisoner's uniform, told "A1+" that his clothes symbolize the presence of political prisoners in Armenia, violations of human rights and it is another sign of protest against the current situation. "We have come here so that the government doesn't lie to the delegates and say that everything is fine in Armenia. They should know that the country is in chaos."

Sargis Kloyan, father of one of the victims of March 1 Gor Kloyan, is surprised to see such a reputable organization holding a conference in Armenia.

"How can there be an international human rights conference in Armenia? The only thing this country recognizes is a lot of money. This government came to power through bloodshed and it is the blood of our children."

The protesters handed the foreign delegates letters with a DVD showing the events of March 1, 2008.

They didn't ignore the protesters and asked why they had gathered there. President of the International Federation of Human Rights Souhayr Belhassen approached the protesters, hugged the relatives of the victims and entered the building with his fist high in the sky.

Unlike the guests, President of the RA Constitutional Court Gagik Harutyunyan entered the building from the other door so as not to meet the protesters.

Unlike other actions, this time the territory was not supervised by policemen. Even a representative of Pakistan asked "A1+" why police were not approaching and prohibiting any actions.
