Water main installation caused traffic jams
It is already five days traffic jams are formed in Yerevan's Myasnikian Avenue causing major difficulties for vehicles moving from Avan and Nor Nork districts.
One needs at least 55 minutes to get to the capital center from Nor Nork district.
"We get to the institute in rundown minibuses lacking windows and seats. And now we have to bear the traffic jam and car-clogged streets," complained student Marine Harutyunyan.
"As soon as the driver brakes, passengers fly ahead with their broken seats," said another passenger.
Taxi drivers say they frequently change the route and use extra petrol to get to the destination in time.
On April 1
The "Yerevan Djur" CJSC started installation of a water main from Acharyan-Babajanyan Crossroad to "Abovyan Purak".
The construction period of the 4,5-km water main is 127 days from the contract start date and will end in August.
The construction is carried out by the financial assistance of the World Bank which has allotted AMD 300 million loan to the Armenian government.
