On May 27 at 1:06 a.m. local time, a 2.5 magnitude earthquake with a 3 point force at the epicenter struck 17 kilometers north-west from Vardenis city at the basin of Lake Sevan.
The earthquake was followed by a 2.1 magnitude aftershock at 6:01 a.m.
Another earthquake had struck here on May 11 as well.
