Cassation Court did not hear prosecutor’s claim
The Cassation Court of Armenia did not take cognizance of the claim of Deputy Prosecutor General Armen Khachaturyan vs. the Appellate Court.
By its decision of March 30, 2010, the Appellate Court left a Gegharkunik court decision on finding Captain Rustam Asatryan and NCO Karen Tovmasyan innocent of servicemen Tigran Ohanjanyan's death and remitted the case for additional examination.
The case file reads that T. Ohandjanyan was electrocuted on August 30 after coming into contact with a telescopic wire at the army post's communications center. For displaying careless behaviour in the matter charges were sought against Captain Rustam Asatryan and NCO Karen Tovmasyan.
Ohandjanyan's father Suren Ohanjanyan states his son was killed and not electrocuted.
"We demand that the real murders be disclosed and punished," the father said.
