They will address Serzh Sargsyan again
Citizens were gathered near the government building today, though the government was holding an outgoing session in Gegharkunik province.
Participating in the action were citizens demanding their deposits from "Armenia" bank. They have been holding actions since 1994, but there has not been any response to this day. As Araxya Nersisyan told "A1+", whereas the number of participants reached a couple of thousands in the beginning, today there are nearly 300 citizens with claims.
"Some died, some are abroad and others have lost hope. Some come with the hope that there will be one official who will wonder why the pensioners gather at the government building for so many years and perhaps the government can help them," says Nersisyan. The bank owes Nersisyan and her sister 300 dollars.
The citizens with deposits at "Armenia" bank have also addressed the then head of the Central Bank Tigran Sargsyan. The latter instilled hope, but soon forgot about that.
The residents of the alienation zone fighting for the restoration of their violated rights for the past 7 years were also gathered near the government building. They were aware that the government was not holding a session in Yerevan, but had come to take part in the action and clarify their next steps.
President of "Property Right Defense" NGO Vachagan Hakobyan told "A1+" that he was going to present his suggestions during tomorrow's Public Council session and then address Serzh Sargsyan to tell him that the judicial system and the municipality continue to work poorly, are involved in illegal acts and throw people out.
"We want to express the people's views to Serzh Sargsyan and tell him that he is doing the wrong thing and that his pre-electoral pledges were a lie."
The European Court will soon send rulings for the appeals filed by some participants.
