"Arbun" is the spirit
Today the government made an addition to one of its resolutions that was adopted earlier.
According to the government's press release, the purpose is to specify the cases of using "Arbun" trademark and ensure the protection of legal interests of local producers and consumers.
With that respect, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan mentioned that the specification was necessary due to the fact that the government's previous resolution had given way to varying interpretations.
Armenian brandy must be prepared with 100% local raw material and the trademark must be "Arbun", if imported spirit is used in the given alcoholic drink.
On May 20, the government had taken the decision to "define the word "Arbun" as a brandy trademark" and allow the use of "Brandy"' and "Arbun" trademarks along with the brand name of the product within the five years after the day the resolution is in effect.
