Chairman of the Armenian Liberal (Ramkavar) Party Harutyun Arakelyan says Armenia is gradually losing the monopoly of rubber production.

"There are four rubber-producing factories around the world and of them is "Nairit". Armenia has a monopoly with a weak economy. It has a very open market and if produced correctly, the factory will flourish. If not, it will stop producing," Harutyun Arakelyan told "A1+".

The party's economic committee has done studies and found that 5,000 employees of "Nairit" are facing unemployment.

Harutyun Arakelyan blames Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Head of "Nairit" Vahan Melkonyan. "They are intentionally killing this powerful factory," says Harutyun Arakelyan.

According to Arakelyan, there are international organizations wishing to fund the factory, but they don't want to do business with the current Armenian government and the factory administration.

"Nairit" factory has not been producing rubber for the past 6 months now. The correspondents at "Nairi" factory refused to comment on Harutyun Arakelyan's accusations and considered them lower than their dignity.
