Salary reaches 2 million drams?
Head of Shorzha community Suliko Shushanyan assures that Shorzha is the only community where there is no problem with workplaces. According to him, the salaries start from 100,000 drams and end with 2 million drams.
"Our huge problem is the workforce. There are several companies, the Yerevan-Shorzha railway, as well as the factory for exploitation of the Shorzha and Jil chrome and dunitperidotit ores," Shushanyan told "A1+".
However, the community residents' claims differ.
They didn't deny the existence of jobs, but who has those jobs is another story.
"We can't find jobs because they are held by the village head's acquaintances and they don't even live in the community. The factory for exploitation of ores is opening and you have to at least be the village head's close friend to work there," a resident of Shorzha told "A1+".
There are 225 families living in Shorzha community of Gegharkunik province and they are mainly involved in cattle-raising. Villagers do well especially during the months of tourism when products are sold at a rapid pace. Milk factories deliver the milk to the villagers. However, villagers are more concerned about the high price for milk.
"We give a liter of milk for 100 drams, but it is cheaper than a half liter of juice or mineral water," the residents of Shorzha complained.
The road improvement and the building of the kindergarten are still the existing issues in Shorzha. This year 25 children of the community will be forced to call an old, wooden shack a kindergarten.
Underwater
Before entering Shorzha village, one can see the coasts and resorts that have gone halfway underwater. Lake Sevan has also "swallowed" hundreds of hectares of coastal forests. People who want to swim in the lake must cross the coast full of moss. In one of the resorts, the water has completely covered the playground and one of the nearby water-pumps.
"Sevan has turned into an evil for the people living near the basin. There is no coast, the lake is filthy, there are no fish and a division is required to clean up after each person who comes to spend his vacation. We can't find the money to clean the coasts," said Head of Shorzha community Suliko Shushanyan.
The government had provided the corresponding bodies with a large sum of money to clean the coasts before raising the level of the water. However, they didn't clean them and Shushanyan considers that to be one of the reasons for the current situation.
The water level of Sevan increases every year and, according to the law on "Sevan", it is expected to rise from 1900.1 to 1903 meters in the next 20 years.
