Free pills for pregnant women
RA Minister of Health Harutyun Kushkyan met with Armenia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Great Britain and Northern Ireland Vahe Gabrielyan and RA Honorary Consul in Northern Ireland, Ohan Yerkaynharsyan, as reported by the press service of the Health Ministry.
The guests presented their programs and expressed the wish to undertake the initiative to provide pregnant women with free pills that contain vitally important substances under patronage and direct administration of the Ministry of Health.
Due especially to insufficient amount of iron, children and women at the age of reproduction may notice anemia, a weak immune system, low birth weight and prematurity, death of mother and newborn, slow growth rates and other complexities.
The Minister placed importance on the initiative and voiced hope that the program would reach out to the children as well. Harutyun Kushkyan expressed willingness to support the program, raise public awareness and oversee the process.
