What did independence give Armenians?
After 19 years, there are still citizens of Armenia who believe that Armenia is not yet fully independent.
According to a citizens who take part in "A1+"'s survey, Armenia is still under the dominance of other countries, particularly Russia.
Anna Sargsyan, 43, is happy for Armenia's independence, but takes note of the fact that it has its negative sides as well. "It had many negative effects in terms of social-economic conditions. We declared our independence, but we weren't able to enjoy that independence in a normal way. Even if we weren't independent, we would live a good life as we used to."
Sos Vardanyan, 54, barely makes a living. "I don't see anything but disadvantages."
"Everything doesn't happen overnight. If we have patience, we will have what we are striving for," said 47-year old Vladimir Grigoryan.
Andranik, 31, celebrates Independence Day in a special way. He visits Yerablur and lays flowers near the tombstones of the freedom-fighters. "The negative effect is the tolerance in an independent Armenia and the positive effect is that we were able to and can find the right path because we liberated ourselves from the Communist regime's model," said Andranik.
"Independence gave us everything. I am standing firmly on my land and feel like its owner. I don't think independence has negative sides," said 49-year old Hasmik Simonyan.
