Women dressed in black were standing in front of the tombs at Yerablur on Independence Day to pay tribute to their relatives who died in the war.

Edik Poghosyan lives in Artsakh and is the brother of Asatur Poghosyan who died in the Artsakh war. He condemns all residents of Artsakh who left the liberated homeland after the war.
"After losing so many people, we shouldn't be talking about handing Karabakh and our liberated territories, but liberating Kars, Ardahan and Van as well," says Edik.

Edik Poghosyan and his mother came to Yerablur to visit the tomb of Asatur Poghsoyan who died in Hadrut in 1991.

"I remember how they brought my son's body. True, we gained independence, but our children died. Who remembers us?" said Emma Poghsoyan.

27-year old Mkhitar Elbakyan died during the events in Khojalu. His mother Clara Elbakyan only consoles herself with the fact that her son died for the Homeland, an independent Armenia and Karabakh, but her sorrow deepens when she sees the situation in Armenia.

The relatives of the victims get very frustrated when they hear news about handing over Karabakh or the liberated territories. "Who will dare give Karabakh which was liberated at the price of our children's blood?" says Emma Poghosyan.

Participant of the Artsakh war Hrachik Babajanyan visited the tombs of his fellow combat friends. He is sad to see that they died not for today's Armenia.

On Independence Day, the freedom-fighter called on the authorities and said: "These people shed their blood and their families, as well as the entire Armenian nation, deserves to live a good life. Don't forget that the people who are ignored today will be in need again."
