A political decision again?
Submission of applications for broadcasting licenses started yesterday.
Applicants can submit their applicants from October 10 to 20. The tender includes broadcasting licenses for six (5 state and one city coverage), one international and news-analytical, three entertainment and one children's programming.
"A1+" will also be participating in the tender after being deprived of a broadcasting license by the National Commission for Television and Radio in April 2002. Throughout the past years, "A1+" has participated in 12 cable tenders and has won a case in the European Court of Human Rights, but has never had the opportunity to be back on air.
This tender serves as an opportunity for "A1+" to be back on air, but as results of "A1+"'s survey show, if all conditions of the tender are met, "A1+" is likely to not receive a broadcasting license.
Seventy percent of the 373 participants think "A1+" will probably not receive a license, while 22.8 percent believe that a broadcasting license will be given to "A1+". 7.2 percent refused to respond.
Based on the results of the survey, "A1+" asks readers to state the reason why "A1+" won't receive licensing.
Currently, the majority of participants say it will be a "political decision".
The survey continues and we look forward to your active participation.
The results of the tender will be clear on December 16.
