Didn’t respond to victims’ parents

Social

The European officials participating in the seminar on the "Right to a Fair Trial and Independence of the Judiciary" didn't meet with the parents of the victims of March 1. The latter had filed an appeal for a meeting to the Office of the EU Delegation in Armenia on November 8 and it had to be presented to the European officials, but the parents still haven't received a response.

"Perhaps they have already left Armenia," one of the parents, Sargis Kloyan, told "A1+". Another parent, Alla Hovhannisyan, blamed the EU Office in Armenia for that.
"I think our letter simply wasn't presented to the European advocates. We have been cooperating with the EU Office in Armenia for all this time and have received responses. A representative has always come down and taken the letter and then we have received a call for a meeting. This time, that wasn't the case," Hovhannisyan told "A1+".

According to Alla Hovhannisyan, no EU Delegation representative received them and the parents simply asked to hand the letter to the on-duty workers.
"We still don't know whether we will be meeting with the advocates or not, despite the fact that we had written several telephone numbers in the letter. I think it is very wrong that there is no response," said Hovhannisyan.
