White Ribbons to be disseminated in Yerevan
On December 6, Women's Rights Center will organize a tree planting in Silikian district as part of "16 days of Activism Against Gender Violence" campaign. The center will also hold a street action on "Men against Violence against Women" with the dissemination of White Ribbons.
The campaign is organized in the scope of the Montréal Massacre of December 6, 1989, in which 14 women students at the École Polytechnique were killed and 13 other students wounded by a lone gunman.
The White Ribbon Campaign (WRC) started in Canada. The campaign is run from November 25 (the International Day for the Eradication of Violence Against Women) and is commemorated as National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
