Government rejected
Today residents of the Artavaz rural community demanded that the government recognize the February 25 decision on acknowledging certain areas located in the Artavaz rural community districts as supreme public interest as invalid. However, they received a negative response from the Prime Minister.
As a result, 100 villagers, including political prisoner Sasun Mikayelyan, were deprived of the land belonging to them. The right to property of lands was transferred to Republican Gagik Abrahamyan-brother of President of the Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan and sheikh of Saudi Arabia Muhammed Musallam. Abrahamyan and Musallam are preparing to build a drinking water factory near the lands.
"RA Prime Minister, Armenia is not a territory for seizure. We will not allow the government to take the lands and distribute them to sheikhs and Turks," said former educator, resident of Vanatur Anahit Grigoryan.;
The participants of the action moved toward the presidential residence to express their protest there.
