“They do not want to reveal the reasons behind mass deaths of birds”
No incident of mass deaths of birds has been recorded in Armenia.
"The fact that birds die in our neighbouring country [Turkey] does not suggest that the same thing may occur in Armenia," said ecologist Tsovinar Hovhannisyan.
Armenia scientists are surprised that their European and American counterparts cannot determine the reasons for mass deaths.
"Such a study can be carried out even in our Institute of Biology in Yerevan," said the ecologist.
"I think that they simply do not want to divulge the reasons. This is not a natural disaster; otherwise it would spread to reptiles as well."
