Unclear change
The internationally recognized Armenian team which has been involved in issues related to climate change for the past 10 years has been disbanded.
By the government's decision, the department of environmental protection at the RA Ministry of Nature Protection has been disbanded and Aram Gabrielyan is currently unemployed.
"Ecolur" reminds that Armenia won a prize for achievements in the sphere of cleaning development mechanisms during the UNn international summit on climate change held in Cancun, Mexico. This achievement has also been considered as the major achievement of the RA Ministry of Nature Protection in 2010.
The cleaning development mechanisms are complicated organizational, ecological and economic issues the solution to which is based on the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the attached Kiotto's Protocol. The main purpose of these documents is to use economic mechanisms to reduce the number of thermal gases exhausted into the atmosphere.
