The tricked residents continue to protest
The residents of the newly built buildings on Babajanyan 25, Gevorg Chavush 14/3 and Norashen 37 streets in Yerevan today held a protest near the ESCO Concern building, demanding the return of their homes.
The residents say they purchased homes from the "Norashen 2007" construction firm in 2007, but it turns out that those homes were recently resold. The residents told journalists that the ESCO real estate trade concern purchased their homes and sold them to other citizens.
For nearly 3 years, the residents paid 500-800 dollars for 1 square meter and impatiently waited for their apartments. When ESCO Concern representative Sargis Aghabekyan approached them, all the residents asked him questions and demanded immediate responses.
Sargis Aghabekyan was doing everything he could to give justifications and assured that "Norashen 2007" construction firm was the one responsible for everything. According to him, the firm signed trade contracts and didn't fulfill its obligations. That is why ESCO Concern has filed a lawsuit against "Norashen 2007", bu as it turned out, there was no information about the residents' violated rights in the lawsuit. The lawsuit obliges "Norashen 2007" to finish construction of the building and hand it over.
The residents weren't satisfied. "He wants to trick us again." They are certain that ESCO is responsible for their problems and demand that the concern be brought to justice as well. Discontent with the protest near ESCO concern, the residents decided to continue the protest near the RA presidential residence.
At the presidential residence, they were assured that the investigative bodies were involved with the case. The residents were not satisfied with this response either and assured that their actions would continue.
