Yerevan Mayor thanks participants of spring cleanup
April 16 is declared tree planting and cleaning up day in Yerevan. Mayor Karen Karapetyan called on Yerevan citizens to contribute to the effort by cleaning up the streets and yards in the capital.
Karapetyan thanked all the participants of the April 9 cleanup and tree planting which involved thousands of citizens, including private citizens, business owners and representatives of public and international organizations.
Over 20,000 saplings were planted in the capital on April 9.
"It is necessary to involve everybody in the process. General cleanup should be noticeable everywhere - starting from residential yards to main avenues," said the Yerevan mayor.
