Yerevan citizens had to breathe yellow dust from early morning. There are unusual yellow hues in the sky that raised doubts and anxiety among citizens.

Baghdasar Sngryan, director of Environmental Impact Monitoring Centre, said that the dust is due to desert winds blowing Syria and Iraq.

"Last year there were red hues in the sky. There is no need to worry as the inexplicable layers of dust are not dangerous for people. Our citizens are annoyed as the heavy dust leaves white marks on cars," said Sngryan.
Environmentalists explain the heavy dust with industrial fumes and vehicular emission.

"The air is polluted in Yerevan and the strange dust is derived from vehicles and chemical fumes. This is smog - a mixture of smoke and fog," environmentalist Inga Zarafyan told A1+.

Baghdasar Sngryan disagreed with the environmentalist saying that during the Soviet era five factories were operating in Yerevan but they never saw smog.

Synoptician forecast short rain and thunder in most areas of Armenia on April 20, with the gradual decline in temperature.

In Yerevan, temperature will be +22, +24 in the daytime and +11, +13 at night.
