Effects of injustice
On April 24, the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church celebratesd the Day of the Holy Resurrection of Christ and commemorated the martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.
Attending the patriarchal liturgy were RA President Serzh Sargsyan, Chairman of the RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan, RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, President of the RA Constitutional Court Gagik Harutyunyan, as well as MPs, government officials, members of the Supreme Spiritual Council, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia, representatives of international organizations, scientific, educational and cultural figures.
During the Divine Liturgy, the Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his Patriarchal Precept to all Armenians as he touched upon the celebration and the symbol of Holy Resurrection in people's lives.
"Our fathers dreamed of Armenians' security and well-being in a free homeland. Now that we have a free Homeland, we must put in all efforts to reinforce the country for a bright, prosperous future, protect our right to living freely and the victory of our just cause."
His Holiness noted that Armenians' struggle for justice in the international arena and their efforts for living a good life in Armenia and the Diaspora will not be victorious, if there is no justice and truth.
"The lack of justice infringes upon the grounds of a divine world and impedes a peaceful life. The God-given right of nations to live freely is still disputed in the international arena. We witness this by seeing the prolonged conflicts in different countries and the process of international recognition of the NKR's independence. The right of nations to live freely is not only dignity for mankind, but the guarantee for peace in the world," said the Catholicos of All Armenians.
With the tiding of Holy Resurrection, the Supreme Patriarch conveyed his greetings to the Chairs of the Armenian Apostolic Churc, clergymen and spiritual leaders of Sister Churches. After the Divine Liturgy, an official reception was held at the Alex and Marie Manoogian Treasury during which the Catholicos greeted the gathered with a tiding.
