Drivers forget to check the tank
More and more drivers are switching from petrol to gas after the government announced that there wouldn't be any gas inflation. Alongside the increase of cars with gas tanks is the growth of accidents due to gas outflow.
"Low-quality gas tanks burst. Italian gas tanks are safe, even though they wear out over time," says driver Edgar Hakobyan who works as a taxi driver.
Gas tanks have varying dates for use. For instance, metal tanks last 20 years. "Gabmas" LTD informed that gas tanks must be inspected once every two years.
Drivers don't know the timetable for the use of gas tanks either and some say it depends on the amount of charge.
"There are gas tanks that are very dangerous. Even if the metal-plastic tank is damaged, it doesn't explode, but it is expensive," says a driver who has had a gas tank for two years and has checked it three times already. "The gas filled at gas stations is not clean and the tank is filled with dirt throughout the year."
Some drivers said the taxi service should check the tanks. Another driver added that he didn't know whether the driver of the car he bought had checked the tank or not.
"It is very important for a car to be in good shape because there are problems that you may not notice while driving," says "Gabmas" LTD deputy director Samvel Mkrtchyan.
Drivers confessed that they didn't always notice the danger of a gas tank, but that experienced drivers check their tanks every day.
