Armenian FM meets U.S. Secretary of State
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with the U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, in Washington on Thursday.
The U.S. Secretary of State hailed the developing friendly ties between the United States and Armenia.
"We have held numerous meetings with the Armenian Foreign Minister and I am glad to receive Edward Nalbandian in the State Department again. We're going to discuss important issues and I hope we shall continue the dialogue," said Hillary Clinton adding that the bilateral partnership covers a wide range of issues - from politics to interpersonal relations.
Thanking for the invitation, the Armenian Foreign Minister said that frequent meetings between the two countries demonstrate Armenia's commitment to develop and strengthen bilateral ties and collaboration.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues, including the possibilities of developing and broadening economic ties, the positive dynamics of democratic reforms in Armenia, as well as regional issues.
The officials also exchanged views on the recent developments in the Karabakh peace process. The U.S. Secretary of State highlighted the resolution of the conflict through peaceful talks and reiterated U.S. readiness to assist the conflicting parties in reaching a consensus.
