Inflation made 9% in Armenia
Consumer prices in Armenia increased by 9,0% in May 2011 as compared to the same period of 2010, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).
The economic activity in the above period made 9,9% compared to May 2010, and 13.7% compared to April 2010.
Foreign turnover grew by 23%, making $475 million (177,2 billion drams). The volumes of export and import grew by 39.7% and 18.5% respectively.
The volumes of industrial manufacturing increased by 25%, which is 11,4% more compared with the previous month.
Gross agricultural output increased by 49.2% in a month - 0.1% more compared with May 2010.
The national budget envisages 4,6% GDP growth and 4% (±1,5%) inflation for 2011.
At the beginning of the year, the executive branch declared agriculture a top priority, with tangible results expected in May-June.
