Soviet-era political prisoners: “Each of felt Bonner’s support”
A group of Armenian political prisoners of the Soviet era issued a letter of condolence over the death of Yelena Bonner, a prominent human rights activist and publicist.
"Bonner was among the most outstanding human rights campaigners of the Soviet era, a resolute and determined personality. Each of us felt her support and protection. The experience of her unyielding struggle is a must nowadays. We extend our condolences to her relatives and friends," Vardan Harutyunyan, Paruyr Hayrikyan, Azat Arshakyan and Razsmik Markosyan said in the letter.
