RA Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan demands that somebody explain why it is wrong to transfer Minas Avetisyan's frescos to Yerevan.

In response to "A1+"'s questions after today's government session, the minister announced that those frescos had been destroyed in Gyumri for years and nobody had cared about what was happening to them. According to Poghosyan, those territories are destroyed and it is clear that the government can't make investments for renovation.

"I am certain that many don't even know where those frescos are located. No matter how strange it sounds, they are the ones asking where those frescos are located."

Minister Poghosyan doesn't understand the reason for the commotion, especially since Armenian and Italian experts are going to be involved with the frescos. Mrs. Poghosyan says the government will do everything possible to prevent the destruction of those frescos during their transfer.

As for the fact that the paintings will be presented at "Zvartnots" Airport, Hasmik Poghosyan sees nothing strange about that.

Touching upon the criminal case of former head of the chief criminal investigation department of the RA Police Hovhannes Tamamyan, RA Chief of Police Alik Sargsyan mentioned that there were no developments at this point.

"I know that the case will soon be sent to the court. We will know the result after the verdict is announced."

Hovhannes Tamamyan is charged with misuse of his official position. He is also linked to the case of Levon Gulyan who died in unknown circumstances at the RA Police building 4 years ago, but the chief of police tends to differ.

"I don't Tamamyan is linked to Gulyan's case. These are simply assumptions that presses often make."

The chief of police also touched upon the 30-year old youth who was shot by a police officer near "Garegin Nzhdeh" metro station on June 14. "The police officer didn't do anything wrong. This is a typical case and I don't think it is right to determine where the police officer was supposed to shoot."

As for the statements by the parents of the deceased, Arman Yengibaryan, according to which their son was not the one investigated and the police officer had been confused, the chief of police underlined that this is not based on the parents' say and that the expert examination is underway.
