Tigran Davtyan: “Economic growth made 25% in May”
The economic indicators are encouraging, however ordinary citizens need time to feel the economic growth, Armenian Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan said on Friday.
The Minister presented the economic developments of the past 5-6 years, dividing them into three groups - organizational and structural changes and economic programs.
Davtyan refrained from naming specific figures, however, he noted that the economic growth made 25% in May as compared to the same period in 2010. The Minister underlined that industry continues to remain the driving force of the economy.
He dismissed the reports that the economic growth has been registered only in the mining industry and said progress has been achieved in all spheres, including machinery, light industry, tourism, etc.
The Minister compared the spheres of mining and tourism saying their main objective is to combine the two in the correct format.
Note that the national budget envisages 4,6% GDP growth and 4% (±1,5%) inflation for 2011.
