From now on, anyone visiting Armenia can attend and participate in traditional Armenian rituals and taste Armenian gourmet within the framework of different programs. This time, it's the traditional Armenian dolma.

Within the framework of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival, on July 14 the Development and Preservation of Armenian Culinary Traditions NGO is organizing the first Pan-Armenian Dolma Open-Air Festival in Sardarapat with the participation of renowned actors and directors participating in the Golden Apricot International Film Festival, as well as high-ranking Armenian officials and journalists.

The purpose of the festival is to help familiarize the guests with the particularities of Armenian cuisine as much as possible. The festival organizers say this will go on to serve as a link between cuisine and film.

"This is a very good occasion to give solutions to several issues. All nations that are considered bearers of their culture have great cuisine. This is the important precondition that synthesizes these two events," said member of the organizing committee Vardan Hakobyan.

Organizers weren't able to say how many types of dolma would be presented since there is no limit.

"The event will feature twenty pavilions, each of which will present three or four types of dolma. We have received applications from six Armenian provinces. Interestingly, on that day India will serve special Armenian dolma," said President of the Development and Preservation of Armenian Culinary Traditions NGO Sedrak Mamulyan.

A jury will select the winners, and the top three participants will receive souvenirs, medals and cups. The participants will initially present the jury members with the ingredients, and a special booklet will be prepared later.
