The Armenian Red Cross, Oxfam Armenia and UNICEF today will present the final results of the European Union-funded regional program for reducing disaster risks.

The Disaster Preparedness Program of the European Commission's Humanitarian Aid department (DIPECHO) is one of the European Union's programs that is aimed at preparing for disasters and provides funding to dangerous regions. DIPECHO program targets in Armenia are the Shirak, Aragatsotni, Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor provinces.

The actions were implemented in four main directions:

-communities' capacity building for disaster preparedness and risk reduction,

-reflection on issues related to the reduction of disaster risks in the context of the policy on children's needs and rights, as well as the national educational system,

-regulation of regional coordination commissions and strengthening of cooperation in the South Caucasus, reports the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
