Appeal to Ter-Petrosyan with open letter
Residents of Amiryan 4/16, 4/18, 4/20, 4/22 and 4/24 Streets in Yerevan have sent an open letter to leader of the Armenian National Congress (HAK), RA First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan with a suggestion to touch upon their issue of concern at the upcoming rally.
The residents of this sale zone state that in spring 2005, they signed agreements for sale of real estate and compensation according to which they had to receive apartments in place of their homes 30 months later.
After 76 months, the residents still haven't received the apartments that were prescribed in the agreement, the sums for rent and the fines for the delay of construction.
"We still haven't received Certificates of Property, and can't sell, donate or write a will. We are in a devastating state since we were thrown out of the homes that we were renting," as stated in the letter.
The residents have appealed to the RA presidential administration, the prime minister, the government, the municipality, the Ombudsman, the Public Council and even the court.
In their proposal to Levon Ter-Petrosyan to raise their issue during the upcoming rally, the residents mention:
"Perhaps your reputation will compel these authorities to put an end to illegal acts, tricks, theft of homes and will finally restore justice and our rights that are prescribed by Articles 8 and 31 of the RA Constitution.
Dear Mr. President, if these authorities serving only a couple of oligarchs don't pay attention to you, we will be left with no other choice but to leave the homeland for good."
