Exceeded 1 billion drams
Donations on the "Help your School" and "Help your Kindergarten" initiative website exceed 1 billion drams. The proceeds were collected six months after the exploitation of the websites.
Within the framework of Mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetyan's program for supporting schools, 640,822,000 drams has been transferred to schools' accounts alone.
The amount was donated by 1,216 individuals and organizations. The greatest donations were made for school N 20 after John Kirakossian in Yerevan (500 million), school N 71 (74 million) and school N 53 (10 million).
The department of information and public relations of Yerevan Municipality informs that the "Help your Kindergarten" website has helped over 2,000 people and the organization has donated 369,772,000 drams to kindergartens. Out of the 369,772,000 drams, 283,693,000 drams has been allocated to take care of the needs for kindergarten N 141 in Yerevan, another 67,340,000 has been granted to kindergarten N 147 and 2,933,000 drams has been transferred to the account of kindergarten N 90.
Interestingly, one of the users on the mayor of Yerevan's Facebook page complained that school N 20, which received the highest amount of donations, is forcing parents to collect money.
