On September 19, Yerevan State University organized a homage and oath ceremony for first-year students according to tradition.

The official oath ceremony kicked off with a performance of the RA national anthem and welcoming speeches by YSU Rector, Aram Simonyan and Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Father Anushavan Zhamkochyan.

"We are pleased to see that you have joined the large family of university students in solidarity. I would like to see you worthy of the university, our newly established country, society and the Armenian nation," said Aram Simonyan.

The YSU Rector didn't forget to congratulate the gathered on Independence Day and placed importance on the role of students in the strengthening of the young country.

Then, the first-year students took turns reading "I swear, I swear, I swear" and pledged ot be worthy students that will love and respect their professors who spread the light of education and science.

Director of the YSU Cultural Center, Karine Davtyan had organized a concert with the participation of talented students of the Center's cultural groups.
