Opening of Armenian benefactor alley postponed
The opening of an alley of Armenian benefactors near the statue of Mikayel Nalbandyan at the 4th sector of Ring Park wasn't held today. The opening of the alley was organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora.
The Diaspora Armenian benefactors, presses and guests who had been invited to the event didn't witness the solemn opening of the alley since it was announced that the opening would be postponed due to technical difficulties.
The statues of great Armenian benefactors, Brothers Hovhannes and Hovakim Lazarian, Alexander Mantashyan, Boghos Nubar, Calouste Gulbenkian, Alek Manoogian and Mikayel Aramyan had already been placed at the alley. In addition to that, there will also be a monument reflecting the image of Armenian benefactors, and the placement of statues will be ongoing.
The statues were created by sculptor Ferdinand Arakelyan who had won the previously declared contest.
