Sincere love is guarantee for strength
Mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetyan congratulates citizens of Yerevan, guests and Diaspora Armenians on the 20th anniversary of independence and the 2,793rd anniversary of Yerevan.
"DEAR COMPATRIOTS, CITIZENS OF YEREVAN,
I cordially congratulate you on the 20th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Armenia. Twenty years ago, our nation united around the idea of the centuries-old dream of independence, which turned into a reality and was the Armenian nation's greatest achievement. We have struggled and triumphed during each year of independence. The Republic of Armenia is celebrating its 20th anniversary and is moving forward with the confidence that the road to advancement is indisputable.
We stay true to our historical choice, and have reaffirmed it several times by confronting the imposed challenges. We have built, build and will continue to build the future of a free and independent Armenia. We also take pride in the fact that the generation of independence is committed and stands up for all this.
The achievements of the past twenty years of independence, the growing reputation of our country serve as the best evidence that our young country is the worthy inheritor of our traditions spanning millennia. Alongside this notable event, we are also celebrating the 2,793rd anniversary of our beloved capital. The traditional "Erebuni-Yerevan" is a celebration of all Armenians, as well as one of the best occasions for bringing different sectors of our nation together and consolidating them around the state.
I am certain that our unity, consolidation around the state, our love for and dedication to Yerevan are the guarantee for our strength. I cordially wish that all Armenians in every corner of the globe will say MY YEREVAN with warmth and pride when speaking of our old and new capital that develops and flourishes.
Congratulations, Armenia, Yerevan."
