Charity homes for the homeless
Chairman of the board of directors of Habitat For Humanity International, Ken Klein is in Yerevan to find out about Habitat's programs and seek new directions for providing families with low incomes with simple, proper homes.
Habitat's delegates met with representatives of the Armenian government, the U.S. Embassy, the UN Development Program and the Armenian Apostolic Church and discussed issues related to terms of cooperation.
Ken Klein also visited Etchmiadzin and met with His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians. The Catholicos asked about Habitat Armenia's reconstruction and renovation programs and expressed the desire to visit Habitat's partnering families.
Habitat For Humanity International is a Christian, non-profit organization aimed at eliminating people's poor living conditions. Since 1976, the organization has built and renovated over 500,000 homes around the world. Habitat is in Europe and Central Asia.
