90 million dram loss
Unicorn Group has stopped placing billboards in Yerevan. This is what Unicorn Group owner, leader of the United Labor Party Gurgen Arsenyan said during a press conference today.
Unicorn Group and the Nushikyan Association have appealed to the RA Administrative Court to protest Mayor of Yerevan Karen Karapetyan's decision on removing the billboards.
According to that decision, 50 billboards of those companies on Mashtots Avenue and Sayat-Nova Street were removed just ten days ago.
On behalf of Nushikyan Association, Gurgen Arsenyan mentioned that they don't agree with the methods that the municipality is applying.
"Some unknown organization removed them and eliminated the properties belonging to both companies, causing them material damage. The property in my company's balance was reduced by 110,000 dollars, and the Nushikyan Association lost 170,000 dollars worth of property," Arsenyan said.
The municipality has officially informed the companies that "they don't have an agreement for renting land" to place the billboards.
The owner of Unicorn Group assured that the company has appealed to the municipality several times to sign the mentioned agreement, but the municipality has not wished to see those billboards have state registration.
Arsenyan said the companies would file a lawsuit demanding 1,000 dram compensation for each company in exchange for the 120 million dram damage.
According to Arsenyan, if the court doesn't defend his right to property, he will terminate his company's activities.
Gurgen Arsenyan assured that the billboards have helped transfer 1.8 million drams to the city's budget, and the destruction of 50 billboards will lead to a loss of 90 million drams this year.
