Every family in Darbas village of Sisyan region has suffered nearly 5 million drams in damages after 6.5 hectares of cabbage farms remained under the snow. According to initial data, the snow has damaged 500-600 tons of crops.

The villagers cultivate cabbages according to an agreement with Spayka Company under the condition of selling 1 kg of cabbage for 50 drams. Trusting the company with which they have worked for a year, the Darbas villagers received loans and rented lands to sow cabbage seeds in exchange of their homes and properties.

Spayka had to sell the crops before snowfall, but it surprised villagers and started bargaining the price by making the price of 1 kg of cabbage go down from 50 drams to 15. "The company wants to buy cabbage from us for 15 drams and sell it for 100 drams in the city. How will be able to return the loans, the payments for the land that we have rented and pay the water bills?" Darbas villagers complain. They refuse to pay for the irrigation water taken in exchange of lands.

Their only hope is that the head of state is aware of the fact that Spayka has tricked them. "Perhaps one day the president will wake up and realize that we are also his people. The agriculture minister said the government has to respect farmers. If they are aware of the villagers' situation, they should respect us. We hadn't been in such a poor state even during the war."

The villagers have no expectations from Spayka, and their only hope is some compensation. "We don't know what to do. They should at least compensate for our loans, fertilizers and water price, and we will survive with our pensions some way. How are we supposed to live?"

The cabbage that has remained under the snow can't even be used as cattle feed anymore.
