The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan's Shengavit District today interrupted the hearing into the death case of serviceman Artak Nazaryan after a sharp deterioration in the health of Nazaryan's mother Hasmik Hovanisyan.

The sitting was adjourned untimely. Before that, the court had rejected a petition for the judge's resignation filed by Nazaryan's legal successor Ruben Martirosyan and Mushegh Shushanyan. Judge Mardanyan also rejected their motion for interrogating investigators Sargis Madatyan and Levon Petrosyan as witnesses. Martirosyan and Shushanyan argued that the investigators had concealed the facts and case materials, thus committing a grave crime. The court found the petitions as unfounded.

Lieutenant Artak Nazaryan reportedly committed suicide in one of the Tavush province military units on July 27, 2010. Two soldiers and two officers are in the dock who are indicted for pushing Nazaryan to suicide. Meanwhile Artak's relatives claim that the 30-year-old lieutenant was murdered.
